Did you hear about that fire in the warehouse in CA? Many wineries were badly hit as their stocks burned up. Sad for them, but I guess good for others.
The new flap in Arkansas about shipping wine in-state from native winemakers is coming under the guns as an act in restraint of trade. It effectively prevents wineries from other states shipping their wines into Arkansas. My fear is that our Godly legislature will simply forbid the shipping of all wine outside the control of the monopolystic drink distributors. A win for those who don't need one (the distributors) and a loss for Arkansas wineries. A win for Godly folks, a loss for wine drinkers. To find the Godly in bed with the drink distributors truly makes strange bedfellows.
This is very true...people like to tell others how to live their life, but do not pratice what they preach. Does not the legislature know that native wineries pay six taxes on each bottle of wine to the state. IF they promoted reasonalbe wine drinking, then the state would be richer, family wineries would still be in business (there were 149, but now only 5) and the good souls would be a happier lot.
When are you getting a shoppingcart? Do I call or send a e-mail? r. cowie those kits look good. Can you send me some Cynthiana such a great wine that you have. My op>
Mr. Cowie, I'm an old arkie who must unfortunately live in Virginia for the forseeale future. Any place close to me (Virginia Beach Va) where I might purchase some of your wine? Would especially like to try your Cynthiana. Many years ago Post winery made an outstanding semi sweet cynthiana but last trip thru arkansas and Post family winery (note the name change from 30 or so years ago) and voila the cynthiana is now a dry wine. Why fix something when it ain't broke (lol).
